The underground working environment is unique, requiring extremely high standards for the safety and reliability of dump trucks. The following inspection and maintenance procedures must be strictly followed.
I. Pre-Operation Inspection (Focus: Safety and Reliability)
Safety Device Inspection: Confirm that fire extinguishers and explosion-proof devices (if applicable) are complete and effective. Check that lights (especially the rear red lights), horn, and reversing alarm are bright and loud.
Critical System Inspection: Test the braking system (service brake, parking brake) to ensure it is sensitive and reliable. Check that the steering system is free of jamming. Observe tire wear and pressure; vehicles with worn or damaged tires are strictly prohibited from entering the mine.
Vehicle Condition Inspection: Check engine oil, coolant, and hydraulic fluid levels. Check the lifting cylinders, body, and frame for cracks or severe deformation. Ensure the body locking mechanism is effective.
II. In-Operation Monitoring (Focus: Compliance and Vigilance)
Starting and Operation: After starting, warm up the engine at idle speed and listen for any unusual noises. During operation, closely monitor the instrument panel, especially air pressure and water temperature. Overloading and speeding are strictly prohibited.
Environmental Awareness: Underground, traffic signals must be obeyed. Slow down and sound the horn in areas with poor lighting or obstructed visibility. Exercise extra caution when meeting other vehicles or passing through narrow tunnels. Pay attention to the safe distance between the vehicle and the tunnel ceiling and side walls.
III. Post-Operation Maintenance and Storage (Focus: Cleaning and Condition Restoration)
Cleaning and Inspection: Park the vehicle in the designated safe area, and lower the dump body to the ground. Clean the vehicle body, focusing on removing coal dust and rock powder from the engine and radiator. Conduct a walk-around inspection and record any newly discovered abnormalities.
Storage and Handover: Turn off the main power switch. Fill out the operation log, providing detailed information on the vehicle’s condition and any problems, to provide clear information for the next shift.
Summary: The inspection and maintenance of underground dump trucks must prioritize safety. All procedures must be stricter and more meticulous than surface operations to cope with the complex and dangerous underground environment and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
